Two participants in anti-government riots in Iran in January have been executed, Tasnim News Agency reports.

They were linked to the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, also known as Mojahedin-e-Khalq, banned in Iran.

The defendants were found guilty of organizing terrorist acts, including an armed attack using a grenade launcher in Tehran.

After the completion of the investigation and trial, both were sentenced to death.

Iran's Supreme Court confirmed the verdict.

The convicts were hanged Monday morning.
