US proposals for conflict resolution are unrealistic, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said.

“When a proposal for negotiations comes from the US, everyone is wary. I don’t know how credible the world and even the American people themselves consider US diplomacy. In contrast to the contradictory behavior of various American officials, Iran’s position on various issues has been clear from the beginning. We know well which frameworks are acceptable to us. The materials transmitted under different names—for example, 15 points or less or more—were unrealistic, illogical, and [contained] exaggerated demands,” Baghaei said, the Iranian government’s press service reports.

Tehran does not believe that Washington is ready to negotiate, as the US has already attacked Iran twice at the height of the negotiation process, in June 2025 and February 2026, the Iranian MFA spokesperson added.

“Now we are in a situation where US military aggression [against Iran] continues with greater intensity. Therefore, all our efforts are aimed at self-defense. We do not consider these statements to be sincere. We have experienced with our own experience the betrayal of diplomacy. This has happened for the second time in less than a year,” Baghaei said.
