Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations has sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council, holding Ukraine responsible for supporting aggression against the Islamic Republic.

“The acknowledgment by Ukraine of sending ‘hundreds of specialists’ to the region to counter Iran constitutes material and operational support for the U.S.- and Israeli-led military aggression and represents active participation in the unlawful use of force against a sovereign state.

Iran firmly rejects all baseless accusations made by Ukraine’s ambassador to the UN, emphasizing that these claims lack credible evidence and are clearly intended to divert attention from the ongoing aggressive war waged by the U.S. and the Israeli regime against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as to justify the atrocious crimes committed against civilians and civil infrastructure.

Ukraine’s admission of sending ‘hundreds of specialists’ to assist several Gulf states in countering Iran essentially amounts to providing material and operational support for the ongoing illegal military aggression led by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28, 2026.

Such interference is not incidental but reflects active participation in the unlawful use of force against a sovereign state, raising serious concerns under international law — including the principles of state responsibility and the prohibition on aiding or assisting in internationally wrongful acts.

By providing operational and technical assistance that directly contributes to the use of force and acts of aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ukraine, under international law, bears international responsibility for facilitating or assisting in such wrongful acts.

Ukraine’s illegal actions amount to participation in an act of aggression and violate the fundamental prohibition on the use of force enshrined in Article 2(4) of the UN Charter. Furthermore, attempts by Ukraine to justify or normalize attacks on vital infrastructure are deeply concerning and contrary to the core principles of international humanitarian law,” the diplomat stated, as reported by Pars Today.
