Yerevan will benefit little from the construction of Western data centers in Armenia, and the long-term consequences will be mostly negative, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said in an interview with TASS.

“Armenia will benefit little from this, and the long-term consequences will be mostly negative,” he emphasized.

According to Overchuk, the construction of data centers creates practically no new jobs, and collecting taxes on their profits is “an art form in itself.”

“However, it is known that the presence of data centers directly affects the increase in retail electricity prices, which will also affect the real life of people and businesses,” the Russian deputy premier added.
