The Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows: According to some information, the Kremlin made a final decision still weeks ago that it is impossible to continue relations with [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan, since he promises one thing in Moscow, arrives in Armenia, does something completely different and acts against Armenian-Russian relations.

Therefore, a circular was issued to the heads of all key structures to make every effort to bring to power in Armenia a [political] force that has a program to restore Armenian-Russian relations.

The CC [i.e. Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party and its parliamentary faction] members hoped to incite anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia, talk about a "hybrid war," and "acquiring a state" after getting rid of the guarantor, but also to "court" Russia. That is why, during visit to Moscow, first [Armenian parliament speaker] Alen Simonyan tried to meet with the Kremlin curator for Armenia’s affairs, [Sergey] Kiriyenko, and was refused. Then Pashinyan tried to organize a meeting between [his chief of staff] Arayik Harutyunyan and Kiriyenko, again in vain. And the day before yesterday, [Russian President Vladimir] Putin said in direct text that whoever the RA authorities will be, they [i.e. Russia] will work with them.
