Debates over the religious prohibition on developing nuclear weapons are intensifying in Iran amid deteriorating international situation and changing security conditions, reports the Telegram account "Diary of an Iranian Journalist."

And a group of Iranian religious scholars has appealed to the country’s top leadership, proposing to revise Iran’s current fatwa—an Islamic religious ruling—prohibiting the development and possession of nuclear weapons in the country, which has been in effect in Iran since the early 2000s.
