On Tuesday, the White House denied reports suggesting that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s statements about military operations in Iran implied any possibility of a U.S. nuclear strike on the Islamic Republic, AFP reports.

After Vance said that the U.S. armed forces have tools they “have so far decided not to use” to enforce President Donald Trump’s dramatic ultimatum, the White House stated: “Literally nothing the Vice President said here ‘implies’ that. You absolute clowns.”

The statement was issued in response to a post from an account associated with former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, which claimed that Vance hinted Trump “might use nuclear weapons.”
