The complete lack of sovereignty is expressed by constantly using that word; this is a way to overcome the fixation, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan stated during a podcast.

“Armenia has never been in a more problematic, dependent state; moreover, dependent on everyone. Objective dependence on Russia is enormous. Who will Armenia’s withdrawal from the EAEU [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union] hurt? Look, 35 to 40 percent of Armenia’s foreign trade goes to Russia, and what percentage does Armenia make up in the amount of Russia’s foreign trade? It makes up 0.3 percent. After destroying [Armenia’s] agriculture, they [i.e. the incumbent Armenian authorities] will say, ‘Yes, we lost agriculture, but we gained our independence.’ There will be such an argument," added Armenia's second president.
