Armenia will never leave the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as it would be fatal for its economy. Leonid Kalashnikov, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, told this to Izvestia.
“In addition, even if it leaves [the EAEU], it must join the European Union. But who is waiting for it or accepting it in the EU?” the Russian lawmaker noted.
Kalashnikov added that Russia should give a mirror response to Yerevan’s “unfriendly statements.” According to him, Armenia’s exit from the EAEU is pointless, as the country’s economy will suffer serious losses, and Armenian businesses will suffer first of all.
