Schweik said: “If my aunt were a man, I would call her ‘uncle.’” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press briefing after the Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government on Thursday, in response to a question about a possible increase in the price of Russian natural gas in Armenia.

Pashinyan considered unacceptable the questions raised by the opposition and some experts about what the Armenian government would do if the price of natural gas being imported from Russia increased.

“And if this does not happen, what will those who are asking such questions now do?” asked the Armenian premier.

He assured that Armenia has long-term contracts with Russia, while emphasizing that there is no basis for raising natural gas prices in Armenia.

The Armenian PM insisted that the two parties cannot build relations with the logic that one party assumes that the other will violate all possible and impossible agreements.
