Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met in Brussels with Kaja Kallas, European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,  and Vice-President of the European Commission.

The interlocutors discussed matters of consistent implementation of the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, the foreign ministry of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The substantive preparation for the Armenia-EU summit to be held in Yerevan in May was discussed in detail, and the agreement on the implementation of programs aimed at ensuring tangible results for Armenian citizens was emphasized.

Also, Mirzoyan and Kallas discussed initiatives aimed at continuously strengthening democratic resilience, which are an important part of the Armenia-EU value-based partnership and strategic agenda. In this context, an agreement was reached on ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of the existing clear mechanisms to support democratic processes.

In addition, the Armenian FM and the EU foreign policy chief stressed the importance of implementing mutually beneficial programs in economic and transport connectivity, as well as in promoting cooperation in the energy sector.

At the meeting, views were exchanged also on several other matters of mutual interest.
