Norwegian ambassador to Armenia Bergljot Hovland—who is based in Tbilisi, Georgia—was hosted Wednesday at the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia.
The ambassador was received by CEC deputy chairperson Nune Hovhannisyan and secretary Armen Smbatyan, the CEC informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The CEC and the United Nations Development Program had announced the launch of the ARTEMIS program last year. It is aimed at promoting transparent and inclusive governance reforms in the electoral system. The Norwegian ambassador to Armenia also had participated in the signing of the respective document.
Ambassador Hovland was interested in the work of this program and the preparations for the Armenian National Assembly election on June 7.
