There will be no deal between the US and Iran if the latter intends to have nuclear weapons, US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox Business.

If Iran doesn’t do it, there will be no deal. The whole story, in essence, boils down to the fact that Iran not have nuclear weapons; it can't have nuclear weapons, the US president said.

Washington has long demanded that Tehran abandon its nuclear weapons program. Trump has stated that Iran is not ready to give up its nuclear weapons development, although it wants a deal more than the US because it fears attacks.

Iran, on the other hand, insists on its right to continue enriching uranium. Iran does not seek nuclear weapons, but has the right to peaceful nuclear energy, according to President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iran's renunciation of nuclear weapons and their development is one of the main US conditions in negotiations with Iran.

The possibility of new talks is currently being discussed. Trump himself announced Tuesday that it could take place within the next two days.
