The US has suspended arms deliveries to Estonia due to the war with Iran. The suspension is expected to last until the situation in the Middle East is resolved. Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced this in an interview with ERR after a phone conversation with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

According to Pevkur, the aforesaid suspension primarily concerns HIMARS and Javelin systems worth tens of millions of euros. The anti-tank weapons stocks of Estonia are sufficient. The minister noted that the delay will not last weeks, but months, and if the process drags on, Estonia will have to look for alternatives on the global arms market.

The US suspension of arms deliveries does not directly affect the Estonia's security at this time, as Tallinn has alternatives and agreements with allies. No budget revisions are planned either.

During the phone call, the parties also discussed Estonia's possible assistance to the US in the Middle East, including in the reopening the Strait of Hormuz. There are no concrete decisions yet, and the matter is being developed at the military level.
