Europe is building more effective ties with Central Asia through Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, said the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

According to her, this confirms the correctness of the European Commission's strategy for the Black Sea, one of the key elements of which is the development of transport and economic connectivity.

Kos emphasized that the EU is strengthening ties with Central Asia through the South Caucasus, prioritizing trade and energy sectors.

She also noted that northern trade routes are limited due to Russia, and the use of southern routes has become difficult as a result of the war with Iran.

The European Commissioner for Enlargement added that relations with the countries of the South Caucasus—including Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey—will be discussed at the EU meeting.
