Pakistan's interior minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Ambassador Natalie Baker discussed the regional situation and diplomatic efforts to hold the second round of talks between Iran and the US in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
Pakistan's interior ministry said on social media that Naqvi lauded US President Donald Trump's initiative to extend the current ceasefire with Iran, and stressed the need to maintain diplomatic channels to achieve a sustainable settlement.
Also, Pakistan's interior minister expressed hope for positive progress from Iran, adding that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir are making maximum efforts at all levels to resolve the issue.
