The trial against Tugce Yilmaz, editor of Bianet.org of Turkey, continues for an interview she had conducted with Armenian youth living in Turkey, Bianet reports.

The second hearing of the trial against Yilmaz, under the Turkish Criminal Code’s infamous Article 301, was held. Article 301, under which slain Istanbul Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was also charged, refers to insulting and humiliating the Republic of Turkey.

Representatives of a number of local and international journalistic organizations also attended the hearing.

The Yilmaz and her lawyer requested time to prepare a defense against the charges.

The hearing was adjourned until October 20.

The reason for this lawsuit is an extensive interview conducted by Tugce Yilmaz with young Armenians living in Turkey two years ago on April 24—the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, during which being Armenian in Turkey, the difficulties associated with it, various aspects of life, as well as their views on the Armenian Genocide were discussed.
