At the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved the proposal on the establishment of general principles of liability for non-compliance with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) requirements in customs regulation.

By order of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission—the executive body of the EAEU—of January 30, 2026, the draft protocol on amendments to the agreement of July 5, 2010 on the features of criminal and administrative liability for violations of the customs legislation of the Customs Union and the member states of the Customs Union was approved.

Then, the draft was submitted to the EAEU member states in order to carry out the necessary internal procedures for signing the document.

It is noted that when establishing liability for crimes and administrative offenses, the parties must be based on the principles of legality, justice, humanity, equality before the law, the presumption of innocence, the inevitability of liability, and proportionality of punishment.
