YEREVAN. – The NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange saw no trading on Thursday, and the reason was the great divide between the sale and purchase exchange rates.  

The demand for the US dollar was at AMD 388/$1, whereas the offer price was at AMD 389.49/$1    

To note, the average exchange rate was AMD 389.89/$1 on Wednesday.

And even though no trading was conducted at Armenia’s stock exchange, the US dollar still tends to lose value, and this was reflected on the country’s cash foreign currency market, too. The exchange offices purchase the dollar at AMD 387.5-388/$1, and in some exchange offices it is sold at a minimum of AMD 389.5/$1
