The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) of Turkey has posted a condolence message on its official page on the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In the message, the pro-Kurdish DEM Party calls on the Turkish authorities to face up to the crimes committed against humanity, take steps to restore justice, and apologize.

"On April 24, 1915, about 200 Armenian intellectuals [in Istanbul] were taken from their homes and sent to their deaths, starting an ethnic, religious, and cultural genocide. 111 years have passed since that day," the message added.
