Turkey will continue its sanctions against France as long as the bill that criminalizes the denial of the Armenian Genocide is on the agenda, Turkey’s Deputy PM Bulent Arinc stated.

He noted that the French Constitutional Council’s decision—whereby the law that criminalizes the denial of the fact of the Genocide in the Ottoman Empire was declared null and void—is considered a “pleasing” fact. “But the sanctions will continue so that Nicolas Sarkozy would not include the law on the parliament’s agenda yet again,” Turkey’s Deputy PM said ITAR-TASS News Agency informs.
