YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Recue Service received a distress call, from the prefect of Bardzruni village in Vayots Dzor Region on Tuesday, informing that the rooftop and the frontal wall of the house belonging to village resident G. Aleksanyan had collapsed.   

According to preliminary assessment, the weight of the snow which had accumulated on the roof was the cause of the cave-in. There are no casualties or injured, Rescue Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

To note, 47 cases of collapse are recorded in Armenia so far in the current year, and this is eight more than the same time period for last year. In 43 cases, the cause for the cave-ins was the snow which was accumulated on the rooftop, and one collapse was caused by an explosion. The most number of cave-ins was registered in the Vayots Dzor Region. One person was injured so far this year, whereas one had died and another person was injured in the same time period for last year.
