Turkish Education Ministry has launched an investigation into circulation of anti-Armenian textbooks in the schools of Kartal districts.

The statement issued by the Ministry said that a new edition contains remarks inciting hatred and enmity toward the Armenians which will have negative psychological effect on schoolchildren, Milliyet newspaper reports.

Therefore, the Ministry decided to launch an investigation into handing over the textbooks to schoolchildren, the statement said.

The book is authored by Yunus Zeyrek, and its subheadings include titles such as “The Anatomy of a Treachery” and “Such Neighbor is an Enemy”.     

This book also targets those Turkish journalists, public and political figures, and intellectuals who had joined the “I apologize to my Armenian brothers” campaign.
