YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) received a distress call, on Monday, informing that large number vehicles were stuck in snow at the Shenavan-Aragats motorway, that there was a newborn in one of the automobiles, and assistance was needed.   

By the help of the fire and rescue squad, which was dispatched to the scene, and the equipment provided by a nearby village prefect, nineteen cars—carrying sixty passengers—were removed from snow, MES informs.   

Another distress call was received, also on the same day, this time informing that a vehicle was caught in a blizzard at the Alagyaz-Tsaghkahovit Highway, and assistance was in need.

The fire and rescue squad, which was dispatched to the scene, took eighteen stranded passengers to Tsaghkahovit village, whereas three automobiles returned to Alagyaz village.
