YEREVAN. – The decision of the Egyptian parliament about expelling the Israeli ambassador from Cairo was expected as currently Egypt’s legislation is in the hands of the Islamic fundamentalists and such a decision is usual for their ideology, Armenian Arabist David Hovhannisyan told the reporter of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

However, as long as the Egyptian authorities have an army the Israeli ambassador will not be sent to Tel-Aviv.

“The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Marshal Hussein Tantawi will not confirm the parliament’s decision. But the fact that such announcements affect the relations of the two countries cannot be neglected. Israel already feels threatened from Egypt and will take caution soon,” the expert said.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the Egyptian parliament had decided to expel the Israeli ambassador from Cairo and to call back the Egyptian ambassador from Tel-Aviv.
