YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan returned the amendments to the law ‘On environmental expertise’ to the parliament which had been adopted during the second and last reading in February. The parliament will have to revise the amendments.
The amendments in the law foresee three-staged classification for projects on the degree of potential environmental impact.
Last year the law sparked protests of the green activists including a picket near the parliament building.
