YEREVAN. – Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian on Thursday received  Radmila Šekerinska, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Observation Mission Chief.  

Nalbandian noted that Armenia is actively involved in the cooperation within he framework of OSCE/ODIHR and in the latter’s activities. And as per Nalbandian, the telling proof of this is the fact that Armenia’s FM was the first foreign affairs minister who, back in 2009, had visited the Organization’s headquarters in Warsaw, MFA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

Edward Nalbandian reconfirmed the Armenian authorities’ determination to conduct the forthcoming National Assembly elections consistent with international standards, and stressed that they, together with international organizations, already have carried out comprehensive reforms to this end.     

In her turn, Radmila Šekerinska noted that their key objective is to assist in improving the electoral process, and that the observers will be impartial in this regard. 

The OSCE/ODIHR Observation Mission Chief also informed that the Mission’s long-term observers will arrive in Armenia next week. A total of 24 long-, 250 short-term OSCE/ODIHR observers are expected to monitor the elections.
