YEREVAN. – Over 150,000 people left Armenia in 2001-2007, while no precise data is available since 2008 due to lack of conducting researches, head of the State Migration Service at the Government of Armenia Gagik Yeganyan said on Tuesday.

Asked why researches were not conducted, Yeganyan said that there is lack of financing and added that it is not right to claim that migration rates increased. He claims that migration level is the same and over 25,000 Armenians leave the state annually. 

In her turn, the Policy Advisor on Migration Eleonora Vergeer commenting on the declaration between Armenia and the EU on cooperation on free movement, said that migration flow from the state to the EU countries will increase unless life standards in Armenia are improved.
