YEREVAN. – The incident with the weapon is a problematic situation for ruling coalition member Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) head Gagik Tsarukyan.

The candidate should love the voter, or at least show that he loves and is not afraid of him/her, head of the All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion (VCIOM) Valery Fedorov said at a press conference on Friday.

According to him, the incident was not planned by the PAP headquarters. Hence, Tsarukyan was not ready that his golden pistol will be noticed.

Fedorov also said that he is not sure how it will affect Tsarukyan’s campaign but will for sure have a negative influence. At the same time, Tsarukyan could not justify it properly and he indeed needs to work much on his image.
