"Right after this trip, I will have another discussion with President Aliyev. You know, we always try to play our role as a mediator and to help." This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, responding to a question from NEWS.am correspondent about the fate of Armenian prisoners held in Baku.
The French leader emphasized that tomorrow he plans to hold a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss the situation with the prisoners. Macron noted the importance of respecting international law and added that France will continue to do everything possible to support peace and stability in the region.
To recall, the French leader arrived in Yerevan for a three-day state visit to participate in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community and hold talks on strategic partnership. Immediately upon arrival, Macron went for a walk in the city center, where he informally chatted and took photos with residents of the capital.
