At Monday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, where the annual report on the implementation of Armenia’s 2025 state budget was being discussed, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the people on their victory in the National Assembly (parliament) elections held on Sunday.
“I want to congratulate the people of the Republic of Armenia for winning according to the results of the elections held on June 7, 2026. The people of the Republic of Armenia, with their vote, stood up for the state, stood up for independence, stood up for the future, stood up for peace, stood up for the Republic of Armenia. I must record that the three-headed party of war [i.e. he means the Strong Armenia bloc, the ‘Armenia’ bloc, and the Prosperous Armenia party, which, according to preliminary election results, also passed the threshold for winning seats in the Armenian legislature] has been defeated.
This is an important, but not final result, because I think the people [of Armenia] also clearly expressed their will that the three-headed party of war and the criminal oligarchic system accompanying it should be uprooted from the Republic of Armenia, and, of course, this will be one of the most important agendas of the political majority and the government, which we must implement without delay and with very decisive and specific steps.
I also want to congratulate the [ruling] Civil Contract party on the recorded result and victory,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, the Civil Contract will form a majority in Armenia’s new parliament and form a new government.
“We will have the opportunity to discuss this topic in the coming months,” the prime minister of Armenia added.
