The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting today, approved a measure to assist the fruit, bottled grape wine, brandy, and mineral water exports from Armenia.

Presenting the respective draft decision, Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan noted as follows: “Last week, the government approved a measure to support the export of fresh tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and flowers being produced in greenhouses from Armenia, the aim of which was to contribute to the diversification of the export market and the formation of new supply chains. This draft proposes to approve a second measure of the same content, in order to stimulate the export of apricots, plums, cherries, mineral water, wine, and brandy [from Armenia]. The draft proposes to provide compensation to economic entities carrying out export during June in the following amount:

For one kilogram of apricots – 200 drams,

For one kilogram of plums, peaches, and nectarines – 250 drams,

For one kilogram of cherries – 400 drams,

For each liter of bottled grape wine – 350 drams,

For each liter of bottled brandy – 830 drams,

For each liter of mineral water – 150 drams.”

Khojoyan added that since June 1, about 257,000 kg of cherries and 64,900 kg of apricots have been exported from Armenia, and organizations that carried out these exports can also apply to this program and receive compensation at the end of the month.

The amount of necessary assistance to be provided by this decision is estimated at around 3.9 billion drams, which was calculated based on the amount of compensation being provided for the export of estimated amount subject to export in June.
