The most shameful, morally immoral organized elections in the world have ended. Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the opposition Strong Armenia Alliance, said this in an interview with several media editors.

“Our people, one might say, once again, it seems to me that it is still temporary, but suffered a defeat, because these authorities showed the world how elections should not be organized. They completely failed the pre-election processes, they completely failed the processes organized on election day, they completely failed the counting [of the votes]. We all saw that for the first time in the world, they stopped the counting process during the counting, and for several hours. This gives rise to serious doubts that the counting was done entirely in their favor.

That is why I am announcing a process of unification of [Armenia’s] opposition forces. We made that mistake before the [parliamentary] elections [on June 7], many opposition forces, which perhaps were fighting honestly, but overestimated their strength, we could not reach an agreement with many opposition forces, that is why this consolidation is very important for our country and people now.

It seems to me: those opposition forces for whom our country is dear, will respond, and we will definitely create a post-election opposition coalition,” said Samvel Karapetyan.

He proposed creating a respective coordinating council and present all the problems to the people live. “With proper discussions, addressing our people, understanding what is right, let’s take those steps, because we see that there are different opinions in our society now,” he said.

Touching upon the issue of whether or not taking the parliamentary mandates they have won in the elections, the leader of the Strong Armenia Alliance said: "We want to communicate openly, transparently with the people, explain the pros and cons of taking [the mandates], and figure out whether by taking or not taking [them] we can quickly remove [PM Nikol] Pashinyan from his position or not.

We, as the Strong Armenia Alliance, are ready for both. But we must take the most correct steps so as not to give Pashinyan later the opportunity to rule alone, to accept all of [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev's narratives alone, to accept the [new] constitution [of Armenia] that is very dangerous for our country alone.

We are standing at a watershed: will we have Armenia in the next five years, or will we have an Azerbaijani province with an Azerbaijani provincial governor, which is what we have now? That is why we invite all opposition forces [in Armenia] to collaborate and fight together during this period and achieve victory together.

I am sure victory is not far away, victory is close; that is why we must take the right steps.

I propose we turn to the US leadership, the leaders of important European states, the leader of Russia, the leader of China, and I hope that we will have a response from these countries. For this, we will invite the ambassadors of these countries, the heads of international organizations, to the first council of the opposition, so that they can listen to our concerns.

Soon, together with all the opposition forces [in Armenia], we will convene a rally, which I want to call a ‘strong and reliable rally,’ because only then will we be able to get the real support of our people for that rally."
