The search for new markets for the sale of Armenian agricultural products—in particular, fruits, vegetables, berries and flowers, has aroused great interest, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at Thursday's Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

Mirzoyan noted that the new export destinations for Armenian products are considered to be the European Union market, Central Asian countries, Arab states, including Iraq, as well as Armenia's immediate neighbors, including Turkey—despite the current restrictions.

"In some cases, trial deliveries are already being carried out; the others we will see in the coming weeks. I will not hide that logistical difficulties have arisen in some directions. But we [i.e. the Armenian authorities] are monitoring all this. We are in control of the situation and are trying to help [Armenian] business in every way," Mirzoyan said.

He noted that, despite the existing problems, the situation has turned into a serious crisis, which, according to the Armenian foreign minister, is also evidenced by the numbers. As he added, the current situation has opened up new opportunities for diversifying the markets for Armenian products.

“In general, what we have been talking about for a long time and what we had planned is now being implemented. This is the diversification of the markets for the sale of Armenian products. I think that the obstacles associated with logistics and lack of awareness will be quickly overcome, and we will achieve better results than before,” said Mirzoyan.
