A protest is underway in front of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia, where members of opposition political forces and their supporters have gathered.

In particular, Strong Armenia and "Armenia" Alliances are holding a joint rally.

The Prosperous Armenia Party members are also there.

And members of the "HayaQve" initiative arrived a little while ago.

MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan of the opposition "Armenia" Faction in parliament on Thursday had announced that a demonstration "in defense of the votes of our citizens" will be held Friday at 17:00 in front of the CC building.

As reported earlier, the CC, presided over by its president Arman Dilanyan, today begun considering the joint petition of seven political forces to invalidate the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decision on the results of the June 7 National Assembly (parliament) elections.

The rapporteur is CC Judge Edgar Shatiryan.

The respondent is the CEC, while the co-respondents are the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia.

The ruling Civil Contract party is a third party. Among its representatives is Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan, who acts as a member of the party's board.

All parties and authorized representatives are in attendance.
