Armenia is interested in dialogue with Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan on Wednesday told reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia.

“We [i.e. Armenia] are interested in dialogue [with Russia], we are interested in continuing our relations, there will be contacts in the near future,” Safaryan said, answering a question about bilateral relations between Armenia and Russia.

As for separate meetings, he noted that if such meetings take place, they will definitely inform, and added that they will definitely take place.

On June 3, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had said that after the parliamentary elections on June 7 he will visit Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Pashinyan had noted that during a phone conversation with Putin on June 1, they agreed that after the aforesaid elections he will travel to Moscow, have a meeting there, and resolve all current issues between Armenia and Russia.

But on Monday, the Armenian premier announced that there was no scheduled meeting with the Russian president.
