If nothing unforeseen happens, the new talks with the US will take place in Islamabad and will be held in two phases, over two days. Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, announced this at a press conference Wednesday.

The Iranian diplomat expressed hope that the White House will return to reason, and the US will follow its commitments.

“However, if they [i.e. the US] continue to violate the agreements, Iran will respond to this,” Shirgholami warned.

According to the Iranian envoy to Armenia, the US, led by President Donald Trump, seeing that it cannot continue the war against Iran, has decided to agree to a ceasefire.

“However, taking into account Trump’s character and Israel’s goals, this person has not made a final decision on which path he is going to move forward. This has led to the US violating the agreement several times,” the Iranian diplomat noted.

Shirgholami added that the US on Tuesday violated the aforesaid agreement’s article 10, which concerns the sale of Iranian oil without sanctions.

“Such actions indicate that the US is not used to negotiating on an equal footing and taking into account the interests of the opposing side. However, Iran has already proven that it will not surrender and will not submit to the US,” the Iranian ambassador to Armenia concluded.
