An international seminar dedicated to the application of BeiDou satellite system and drones has launched at the Guizhou Academy of Sciences in Guiyang, China, with representatives from various countries, including Armenia. Representatives of various state departments, as well as Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondents, also have arrived in China from Armenia to participate in this international seminar.
According to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent, the official ceremony of the launch of the courses took place at the Guizhou Academy of Sciences today.

The seminar has brought together representatives of member and partner countries of the Belt and Road Initiative on one platform, aiming to present China's experience in satellite navigation, innovative data processing technologies, and the use of drones to enhance the efficiency of emergency management and rescue operations.
"Experience gained in data analysis and evaluation, emergency rescue operations using drones, and other fields, as well as the practical knowledge accumulated by different countries in the formation of disaster prevention and emergency management systems on their own territory, are worthy of in-depth exchange and mutual learning," said Wang Yun, director of the international cooperation department of the Guizhou Academy of Sciences, speaking at the official opening ceremony, according to our correspondent.

According to Wang, during the course, participants will listen to thematic lectures, participate in panel discussions, and also visit scientific research centers, government agencies, and technology enterprises in various provinces of China. The purpose of these visits is to introduce the participants on-site to how the BeiDou satellite navigation system, innovative data analysis technologies, and drones are used in emergency prevention, monitoring, and rescue operations.
“Currently, climate change is intensifying in the world, natural disasters are becoming more frequent, and emergency response and capacity development issues have become a common issue facing all countries. The BeiDou satellite navigation system, which is a global satellite navigation system developed and independently operated by China, aims to provide global coverage and services,” said Zhang Zhen, vice president of the Guizhou Academy of Sciences.

Zhang noted that this program is aimed at deepening scientific and technological cooperation and exchange of experience among developing countries.
According to representatives of the Guizhou Academy of Sciences, within the framework of this program, participating countries will also have the opportunity to present their countries’ economic development priorities, investment environment, trade policy, and possible areas of cooperation.
