Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is taking Armenia under the full rule of Turkey, and the deterioration of Armenia’s relations with Russia is taking place precisely within this logic, stated Anna Grigoryan, head of the opposition “Armenia” faction in parliament, during a press conference Monday.

Recalling that today is the birthday of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, the opposition MP noted that three of the four presidents of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are in prison in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, and Kocharyan is in an isolation ward of Armenia.

“This is not accidental. Nikol Pashinyan rushes to help where [Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev’s hand doesn’t reach. Everyone should ask themselves: after the [June 7 parliamentary] elections [in Armenia], when there are established authorities, why is Robert Kocharyan’s arrest necessary? It is obvious that Armenia and the Armenian people are facing serious trials,” the Armenian opposition lawmaker warned, adding that this refers to the surrender of Tigranashen village, which Pashinyan has turned into “Kyarki,” as well as the amendment of the constitution of Armenia and the rejection of the Declaration of Independence.

“For this purpose, Pashinyan is trying to neutralize one of the most important opponents from the political field, since Pashinyan is taking Armenia under the full rule of Turkey and intends to establish hostile relations with Russia, but Robert Kocharyan, as is known, is a supporter of [Armenia’s] friendly relations with Russia,” Grigoryan noted.
