This is one of those moments when you tilt your head back - and simply lose your words. Above a pedestrian street right in the heart of Beijing's business district hangs a digital sky: a giant glowing canopy that turns an ordinary stroll between two high-rises into something out of a science fiction film. A correspondent for News Armenia - NEWS.am walked through one of the main technological attractions of the Chaoyang district - the shopping and entertainment complex The Place - and saw for herself what the famous Sky Screen looks like, a screen that today ranks fifth among the largest screens on the planet.

The scale hits you the moment you step into the pedestrian zone. The screen stretches 250 meters in length and 30 meters in width, with a total LED surface area of 7,500 square meters. It's assembled from five massive panels combined into a single digital system that delivers footage in the highest quality, complete with surround sound.

Back when it opened in 2009, Sky Screen was officially entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest LED screen in the world. Since then, technology has moved forward, and today it holds fifth place in the global ranking. Even so, in Beijing this canopy remains one of the city's most recognizable landmarks - and one of the few that truly takes your breath away in person.

During the day, the structure works quite modestly - essentially as an awning providing shade for people walking below. The real transformation begins after dark, when the screen turns into a living digital canvas featuring art installations and large-scale light shows.

The schedule shifts with the seasons: in summer, the show starts around 7:30 PM and runs until 11:00 PM, with the visuals changing every half hour; in winter, it begins earlier - from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
