The third Mining Armenia Forum, organized by the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association, raises the country's international profile and contributes to the formation of a mining industry community that unites companies and various stakeholders. Artyom Geghamyan, Corporate Director of Teghout CJSC, told this to reporters on the sidelines of the aforesaid forum.
As per Geghamyan, the advantages that the forum brings to Armenia, and the mining industry in general, are multifaceted. He emphasized that the mining industry and the critical metals industry are experiencing an important stage both in the world and in Armenia. In this context, Geghamyan separately noted the development of Armenia's closer cooperation with the United States.
“The most important document signed in this context became the memorandum on critical metals, which was signed during [US Secretary of State] Marco Rubio’s visit [to Armenia],” he said.
Geghamyan noted that in this context, the forum is important also for discussing various issues related to the investment environment, including the concerns of investors and potential risks. According to him, this platform provides an opportunity to consider these issues from different angles and contributes to the formation of a mining industry community that unites companies and various stakeholders: the government, local communities, and non-governmental organizations. Geghamyan emphasized that the development of such interaction corresponds to the interests of the state.
The co-organizers of Mining Armenia Forum 2026 are the Mining Forum Development Foundation and the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association. The strategic sponsors of the forum, which is being held for the third time, are the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine and the Lydian Armenia company, and the main sponsors are Ameriabank and Teghout CJSC.
