YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has convened on Monday consultations regarding discussion of important issues, including the tax-budget policy, improvement of business environment and tax collection. Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan, head of the Central Bank of Armenia Arthur Javadyan, Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan, head of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan and other officials participated in the consultations. “I would like to make clear two things. First, we should be very careful while setting new rates, especially when increasing them. Second, the more the State Revenue Committee makes stricter struggle against shadow economy the more there are interventions and complaints. However, two things should be clearly stated during the Government session, first, any intervention into tax bodies I will consider as hampering their work and will punish those officials strictly. Second, the level of responsibility of officials should go up with regard to the current situation,” Sargsyan said.
