YEREVAN. – Nineteen new buses are imported to Armenia, and they will replace the older buses that are serving the public transport route between capital city Yerevan and Abovyan city.

As a result, the passenger service quality and safety will improve.

The launch of these new buses was held Wednesday at Yerevan’s Republic Square.  

Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan was on hand at the event. In a conversation with news reporters, and reflecting on the topic of importing new buses to Armenia, Beglaryan noted that the proprietors take part in the Transport and Communication Ministry contest for the public transport routes with their own vehicles.

“And since they know that the companies must participate in the contest with vehicles that are in good condition, or with brand new vehicles, those routes will win,” the minister stated.
