YEREVAN. – The New Political Culture of Armenia Party convened its first-ever public meeting Sunday in capital city Yerevan.

At the event Party Chairwoman Ani Zakharyan gave the government six months to increase the minimum monthly wages and pensions in the country to 100,000 drams (approx. $247), and to resolve all legal matters to “release the political prisoners.” Otherwise, she warned that she would start a signature campaign and demand the resignation of President Serzh Sargsyan.

Even though there was not a great turnout to the party rally, in Zakharyan’s words, all political parties commence their journey with small number of people.

“A person setting out to a real triumph is never disenchanted by anything; he does not bow, [and] is not afraid of small numbers.

“We even know from our history as to what victory we have achieved with [a mere] ten soldiers,” Ani Zakharyan stated, in particular.
