YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress’ (ANC) march on Tuesday, and devoted to Human Rights Day which is marked on December 10, reached the Council of Europe (CoE) Office in Yerevan (Photo). 

In front of the office, ANC External Relations Coordinator Vladimir Karapetyan submitted, “on behalf of the ANC and the Armenian people,” a letter to the CoE office representative.  

The letter contains a six-point resolution, whereby the ANC calls upon the international community not to turn a blind eye to human rights abuses in Armenia, and to compel the Armenian authorities to fulfill their international obligations in the protection of human rights. 

Subsequently arriving in the Government Building, the march participants began to whistle and express their dissatisfaction with the current problems in connection with the protection of human rights in Armenia.    

At present, the protesters are returning to Liberty Square, where the march had begun.
