YEREVAN. – The subdivisions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army do not respond to irregular shots being fired, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters on Friday.

“The Defense Army subdivisions respond [solely] to sniper fire, or carry out preventive measures to prevent sabotage,” Ohanyan added.

To the query on whether the recent meeting between the presidents of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan yielded any results in reducing the recent tension on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the NKR-Azerbaijan Line of Contact, the minister responded as follows:

“I believe that our armed forces created the conditions for the trilateral meeting, for making Armenia’s view become more visible and complete, and the situation is calmer today, after the meeting.”
