Workers from the State Nature Protection Inspectorate of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia had found, in the Vayots Dzor Region, two bear cubs that were in bad condition.

With joint efforts by the ministry and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)-Armenia, the cubs were transported and, subsequently, they underwent care and recuperation under the supervision of a veterinarian for about two months.

And on the occasion of the World Animal Day, which is celebrated annually on October 4, the Nature Protection Ministry and the WWF-Armenia workers returned the bear cubs to wildlife.

The cubs, which were named Khosrov and Astghik, were released at the buffer zone of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
