YEREVAN. – Representatives of small and medium-sized business are happy with temporary suspension of a new law on turnover tax.

However, if merchants get disappointed with amendments to be introduced on February 1, they will renew their struggle, one of the protesters told reporters near government's building on Tuesday.

“We will be working with the government so that the law could be acceptable for us. I think we will fight till the end,” Andranik Hunanyan told reporters.

Earlier PM Hovik Abrahamyan instructed to suspend inspections for small and medium-sized business till February 1, 2015.

On Wednesday representatives of small and medium enterprises are expected to meet with the MPs from Republican Party of Armenia to discuss amendments to turnover tax law.

The new amendments in the Law on Turnover Tax came into force on Wednesday. According to new amendments, a business enterprise will be warned at first, and, subsequently, it will be fined for not submitting a document on its commodity circulation. The large businesses, however, often do not provide documents to the small and medium-sized enterprises concerning the products.
