YEREVAN. – Armenians may not fear rise in prices by 10-15 percent, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said during a Cabinet's meeting on Thursday.

According to him, such fears are exaggerated, and he had instructed head of state commission on economic competition to inform about the prices for commodities that went up within a week.

Deputy Chairman of Armenia's Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan said that the large fluctuations in prices are not expected. In 2014, the Central Bank expects inflation within 4 percent.

Yeritsyan emphasized that all possible instruments of financial policy, including the lombard rate, currency swaps, repo rate and foreign exchange market interventions are used to stabilize the situation.

The assets of the Central Bank are sufficient to mitigate the artificial fluctuations, he assured.
