YEREVAN. – Health condition of six-month-old Seryozha, the sole member of the Avetisyan family to survive the January 12 tragedy in Gyumri city, was very serious from the beginning, head of hospital Nikolay Dalakyan told reporters.

“We had a in-depth discussion yesterday and unanimously stated that the child is not currently subject to transportation. Even his transfer to the first floor can be fatal,” Dalakyan said.

The physician said the child is in a critical condition, he has renal, cardiac and pulmonary insufficiency.

Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, stands accused in this crime. Permyakov is held in custody at the Russian military base.

The soldier is charged under Russian law, with “the murder of more than two people,” and “desertion with a service weapon.” The Investigative Committee of Armenia also has launched a criminal case on the murders.

Earlier the child underwent a surgery with the help of foreign physicians. Russian leader Vladimir Putin in a phone conversation with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan offered to send a plane to transport the child to Russia.
